ON THE HISTORICAL ASPECTS OF VIOLENCE VICTIMIZATION AND TERMINOLOGY RELATED TO VICTIMOLOGY

Abstract
The article examines the subject of victimology as a science — individuals victimized by crimes, their relationships with offenders, and analyzes the concepts of victimization and victimhood. Based on national and international criminological research, the social-economic and personal factors of victimization, its statistical indicators, and its significance in the field of crime prevention are studied. The article also explores the probabilistic nature of victimhood, the interactions between offenders and victims in cases of necessary self-defense, as well as the scientific and practical tasks of victimology in crime analysis and prevention. The results of the analysis demonstrate that victimology serves as an important scientific foundation in the fight against crime.
