THE ESSENCE AND CONTENT OF JUVENILE PROBATION

Abstract
This article examines the significance of the probation institution in the process of social adaptation of minors through the protection of their rights and legal interests, as well as the formation of law-abiding behavior and respectful attitudes toward societal norms. The necessity of introducing juvenile probation is substantiated, and international experience is analyzed based on the legislation of Moldova, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan. Basing on this, a proposal is put forward to include a separate provision regulating probation for minors in national legislation.
