THE CHILD’S RIGHT TO ACCESS INFORMATION AND PROTECTION FROM HARMFUL CONTENT

Аннотация
The article examines the child’s right to access information in the context of digital transformation and the simultaneous need to protect children from harmful online content. It analyzes international legal standards, including the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as interpretations by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and UNESCO recommendations. The study explores forms of harmful content and their impact on the psychological and moral development of minors. Particular attention is paid to international and national regulatory approaches, including legislation in the USA, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Uzbekistan. The article substantiates the need for a balanced regulatory model ensuring both access to information and protection from digital risks. The principle of the best interests of the child is emphasized as a guiding standard.
