Abstract

The article examines the development of pilgrim tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is associated, first of all, with the performance of the Hajj rites by Muslims in the month of Zul-Hijja according to the lunar calendar and Umrah throughout the year. The statistical data on the main indicators of international tourism in the leading countries of the world and the Middle East are presented. The place and role of the Kingdom in the world tourism industry is assessed.
