The explanation and distinctive interpretation of the concept “territory” in the works of Muhammad ibn Hasan Shaybani

The issue of “hudud” (territory) has of great importance in international relations in Islam. For this reason, over the centuries, Muslim jurists have written many works on this topic. In particular, the great jurist Imam Muhammad Shaybani, in his writings “al-Siyar al-kabir” and “al-Siyar al-saghir”, studied the issue of hudud in Islam in detail. This article gives the explanation of the concept of “hudud” in the scientific works of Muhammad Shaybani. In particular, he explained such concepts as “dar al-Islam”, “dar al-harb” and “dar al-sulh” in his work “al-Siyar al-kabir”. The article also presents the views of other sects of Islam on the classification of “hudud”.
