THE ROLE OF SOCIOLINGUISTIC COMPETENCE IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Sociolinguistic competence is an important factor in sociolinguistics and serves as the basis for learning and using a foreign language correctly. In this article we will try to explain in detail about sociolinguistic competence, as well as its importance and characteristics in the process of language learning. The article will demonstrate some of the important aspects of this competency for a student. We can say that sociolinguistic competence is the golden key in the hands of a language learner. After all, no matter how well you know a foreign language, it is difficult to use it correctly and adequately. It is necessary not only to be able to speak or understand a foreign language fluently, but also to be able to correctly answer a question or correctly assess the situation and communicate freely with native speakers. This situation determines the level of the speaker's sociolinguistic competence.
