ANALYSIS OF THE “AL-KUTUB AS-SITTA” COLLECTIONS IN THE STUDIES OF THE ORIENTALISTS OF THE XIX-XX CENTURIES
ALIJONOVA, Gulnoza
Abstract
The hadiths, the second source of Islam after the Qur’an, were formed as a separate science in the III/IX century. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the study of hadith reached a new level. Because of this, the political and ideological landscape of the world changed, and literature appeared to discredit the hadiths. Books and articles on the “al-Kutub al-sitta” collections have been published by scholars opposed to this critical literature. The article analyzes the research of the “al-Kutub al-sitta” in the Eastern world in the XIX-XX centuries.
