The Role of the Djuybar Sheikhs in Political and Religious Life of Bukhara Emirate

The article is devoted to the feudal economy of the Juybari sheikhs, who played a leading role in the political and religious life of Central Asia in the 16th century. Using specific material, the author shows the methods of exploitation and the position of the peasantry. He notes that the mass of the rural and urban working population, in most cases deprived of the means of production, was entirely dependent on the large secular and spiritual landowners.
