LINGUOCULTURAL STUDY OF AGING-RELATED EUPHEMISMS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF CHINESE AND UZBEK LANGUAGES)

Abstract
This article is devoted to the linguocultural study of euphemisms related to the oldness in Chinese and Uzbek. Sometimes people encounter situations when communicating with others where they cannot say what they want directly or use phrases in their own sense, putting their interlocutors at a disadvantage. Euphemisms applied to find out solution of such complicated situations. Euphemisms are words and expressions, which are replaces forbidden, improper to say, rude lexicon that contradict moral norms in its own polite way. Euphemisms reflects the psychology, worldview, customs, traditions, myths and beliefs of a people The article divides the euphemisms related to the oldness in Chinese and Uzbek into thematic groups such as "euphemisms for oldness", "euphemisms for important dates", "euphemisms for wisdom and experience" and "euphemisms for appeal". The general and specific aspects of the euphemisms that express old age in Chinese and Uzbek linguoculture are compared and their position in language and culture is highlighted.
