Abstract

  This article covers the history of the study of Uzbek and Arabic folklore, the scientific work of scholars in this field. It also provides information on the origin of the term proverb, its initial use, and collections of Arabic and Uzbek proverbs and their authors. The fact that Arab folk sayings belong to more than one Arab state is unique to each state.
