Uzbekistan’s Experience in Strengthening Interconfessional Tolerance

Abstract
Uzbekistan for centuries has been a center of coexistence and cooperation of peoples with different religions, cultures and lifestyles. The goal of a healthy inter-religious dialogue in the country is to prevent a mood of mutual hostility, establish inter-religious relations based on mutual respect and ensure the peaceful coexistence of religious confessions and, most importantly, the formation of a culture of peace. The traditions of religious tolerance formed in Uzbekistan can serve as a model for other countries.
