Abstract

This article provides information about the first school of Arabic linguistics, the Basra school and its representatives, as well as about the invaluable scientific heritage that they left behind. It tells in detail about the emergence of the Basra school, its representatives and their work on the basis of reliable sources. The activity of the linguists of this school, which began from Abu-l-Aswad Duali and continued until al-Mubarrid, was reflected in the traditions of teaching and apprenticeship.
