Abstract

In Arabic, which belongs to the family of Semitic languages, affixation is more common than other ways of word formation and derivative words are mainly formed from three-root verbs. This article provides information on the formation of words by the affixal method in the Arabic literary language, on root and derivative words, and analyzes prefix nominal means of formation using examples.
