Abstract

The system of Kaziys courts in Tashkent, based on Islamic jurisprudence, has developed and improved over the centuries. Most of the city kaziys are descendants of major scientists. In particular, one of the famous Tashkent judges Muhammad Sharif Khojashah khoja oglu (1817-1904) is a descendant of the famous scientist Hazrat Sheikh Hovand Tohur. He graduated from madrasas in Tashkent and Bukhara, worked as a mudarris and kazi.
