Мамаджанова Наргиза Махмуджановна
Abstract
This article discusses the problems of classifying and describing various references in English. Based on the study of different morphological and functional forms of the address, the author concludes that the English address is a functional language unit and does not have a clear morphological form. The main task of the appeal is to identify him when he is in face-to-face verbal communication. Additional functions of the address include: nominative function naming the addressee by its name or other symbols associated with it; the social-regulatory or ethical function is to show the social and personal relations of the parties and to give a speech on ethical norms; The vocative function is the function of attracting the attention of the addressee and communicating with him, the evaluation function, that is, expressing the speaker's attitude to the addressee.
