Abstract
The first centers of Arabic linguistics in the 7th-8th centuries. were the Iraqi cities of Basra and Kufa. In the cities of Basra and Kufa, two linguistic schools were created, between which there was a «battle of ideas», sharp disputes and discussions on many issues of linguistics. The article provides information about the history of the development of the Kufa school and its contribution to modern Arabic grammar and its founders.
