Abstract

This article explores the principles used to reconcile seemingly contradictory hadiths and derive Sharia rulings from them. These principles, developed by scholars of Usul al-Fiqh, address apparent contradictions between Quranic verses and hadiths. This field of study, known as "Ta'aruz and Tarjih," recognizes that since both the Quran and Sunnah originate from Allah, any perceived contradiction necessitates careful analysis. This involves considering the context, purpose, and historical background of the narrations. The article also emphasizes the importance of gathering and analyzing all relevant evidence related to a particular topic to reach a comprehensive understanding.
