CHANGING THE MEANING OF WORDS IN MODERN GERMAN

Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of changing the meanings of words in linguistics using neologisms of the German language as an example. The expansion and narrowing of meaning shift of meaning, transfer of meaning and their forms, such as metaphorical and metonymic transfers, which lead to a change in the meaning of words are analyzed.
