The article discusses Praat, a powerful software tool developed by Paul Boersma and David Weenink, designed for phonetic analysis and speech processing. It provides insights into the tool’s historical development, its capabilities in analyzing speech sounds such as pitch, spectral analysis, and formant frequencies, and its application in linguistic studies. The article emphasizes Praat’s flexibility in phonetic research, including its use in dialect studies and its potential in analyzing Uzbek language variations. The potential for integrating artificial intelligence technologies to enhance its functionalities in speech analysis is also explored. The article concludes that Praat is a vital tool in the field of linguistics and phonetics, offering significant opportunities for the future development of speech analysis in Uzbek and other languages.
