This article explores the comparative-historical and system-structural analysis of the lexeme “suv” (water). The study examines the historical forms, semantic evolution, and morphological structure of the word “suv” across Turkic languages through comparative linguistic methods. It also investigates the metaphorical, phraseological, and semantic derivatives associated with the concept of “water” using a system-structural approach, highlighting their national and cultural characteristics. Based on data from ancient Turkic written monuments, the Uzbek language, and related Turkic languages, the article provides an in-depth analysis of the phonetic, morphological, and semantic transformations of the lexeme. The findings demonstrate the antiquity, universality, and conceptual stability of the “suv” lexeme within the Turkic linguistic system.
