DAEVA AS ONE OF THE DOMINANT FIGURES IN UZBEK MYTHOLOGY

Abstract
This article examines mythological beliefs associated with one of the dominant images of the ancient Uzbek people — the daeva (giant) — and the interpretations of this concept in the texts of the Avesta and epic works. The paper provides a comparative study of the origins, sources, evolution, similarities, and differences of the mythological image of the daeva (giant), and characterizes this image.
