Abstract

The article describes the mastery and ability of Rasputin and V. Astafiev in the use of lexical synonyms. The writers rely on the meaning of the word that is not recorded in the dictionaries. They often use the productive-contextual meaning of the word. He strings synonyms and uses all layers of vocabulary. In the writer's prose, such words exhibit synonymy, but outside the text they do not have this property. In the works of Rasputin and V. Astafiev, synonyms are explained by unambiguous words related to various layers of vocabulary, including borrowings from other languages.
