Ergashev, Jahongir
Abstract
The article examines the intensification of geopolitical rivalry between Russia and Britain in the 1870s, focusing on their foreign policy strategies toward Afghanistan and the Emirate of Bukhara. Special emphasis is placed on the use of the Ottoman Sultan’s authority in the Muslim world to strengthen anti-Russian sentiments and their impact on international relations on the eve of the Second Anglo-Afghan War.
