THE IMPORTANCE OF USING PERFORMANCE INDICATORS IN IMPROVING ROAD MANAGEMENT METHODS
Yadgarov, Sirojiddin
Abstract
In traditional highway management practices, information about road conditions is obtained by measuring trafficoperationalindicators. Measuring each of these indicators requires considerable time, and integrating all measurementresults into a unified assessment may create additional challenges. In evaluating the traffic and operational conditionof highways, the IRI (International Roughness Index) is widely recognized as an effective and internationally acceptedindicator.Various software solutions are used worldwide to measure road surface smoothness. Among them, the GLOCAL-EYEZprogram, developed by Japanese specialists, has significant potential for practical application. This article examinesthe effectiveness and reliability of technical devices and technologies used to measure road surface smoothness. Thedata obtained using the GLOCAL-EYEZ program are also compared with the results of other measurement programs toevaluate their accuracy and efficiency.
