Аннотация

This article examines the division of Germany into four occupation zones following the Potsdam Conference after World War II, which resulted in the emergence of two independent states - the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) and the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). It highlights the sharp contradictions that arose between these two states due to ideological, political, and economic differences. The geopolitical situation of the Federal Republic of Germany from 1945 to 1990, its position in the bipolar world system, and its global influence are analyzed. The main focus is on Germany's geopolitical status, relationships with international organizations, and economic and social transformations. The article adopts a contemporary and relevant approach, illuminating Germany's role in the global political landscape of the second half of the 20th century
