Annotatsiya

This article discusses the role of slaves in the socio-economic life of society on the eve of the occupation of the Khiva Khanate by the Russian Empire and during its transformation into a vassal, the attitude towards slaves, the condemnation of civilians to slavery, the issues of setting prices for them, what kind of work they were engaged in, as well as the general information about slaves in the Khanate as a result of the mission of the Russian military historian A.P. Khoroshkin to the Khiva Khanate, as well as issues related to the emancipation of slaves.
