THE HARMONY OF COLOR AND ORNAMENT IN THE CERAMIC ART OF BUKHARA (9TH–12TH CENTURIES)

This article examines the artistic features of glazed ceramic wares produced in the Bukhara oasis during the 9th–12th centuries. Special attention is given to the harmony of color and ornament, as well as their compositional and symbolic significance. The study analyzes the main types of decorative motifs, including geometric, vegetal, and epigraphic patterns, and highlights their role in shaping the aesthetic appearance of ceramic objects. The paper also considers the technological aspects of glazing and coloring, which contributed to the richness and diversity of artistic expression. Based on comparative analysis, the author identifies distinctive regional characteristics and traces their development within the broader context of Central Asian ceramic traditions.
