WAYS TO IMPROVE THE USE OF TARIFF-RATE QUOTAS IN UZBEKISTAN

Abstract

The study examines approaches to improving the use of tariff-rate quotas in Uzbekistan. The economic efficiencyof a tariff-rate quota is shown to depend not only on the difference between in-quota and out-of-quota tariff ratesbut also on the mechanism used to allocate quota access rights among importers. Based on the research findings, scientificproposals and practical recommendations are developed to improve the mechanisms for applying tariff-rate quotas
