Abstract

The aim of the study is to identify the key pedagogicalmechanisms that support learners in constructing meaning while working with texts, to explaintheir theoretical foundations, and to propose a methodological model for classroom use. Semantic comprehension is interpreted as a dynamic interaction among the learner, the text, the task, andthe socio-pedagogical environment. The analysis demonstrates that prior knowledge activation,semantic mapping, guided questioning, inference generation, metacognitive monitoring,reflection, and collaborative discussion function as the core mechanisms of semanticunderstanding
