This article examines the theoretical and pedagogical foundations of critical thinking and explores methods for developing critical thinking skills among students through native language and literary lessons. The study analyzes cognitive, psychological, and social aspects of critical thinking and highlights the role of literature in shaping students’ logical and creative thinking. Additionally, it outlines ways to develop critical thinking skills through interactive pedagogical methods and reflective processes. The findings indicate that literature-based methodological approaches significantly enhance students’ ability to analyze facts, draw conclusions, compare different viewpoints, and think independently. The practical significance of the study lies in providing teachers with effective tools and strategies to foster critical thinking skills in learners.
