Abstract
This article analyzes the role of modern authentic media in teaching English and examines the theoretical and practical foundations of developing communicative competence through their use. Based on a scientific approach, the study explores the linguistic, psychological, and socio-cultural impact mechanisms of authentic media, including real-life videos, podcasts, blogs, interviews, and other audiovisual materials. The research substantiates the role of authentic materials in developing all types of learners’ speech activities—listening comprehension, oral communication, sociolinguistic adaptation, and pragmatic skills. In addition, the article highlights effective methods for integrating these media resources into the teaching process, step-by-step application technologies, and the dynamics of their influence on learners’ language competence.
