A COMPETENCY-BASED APPROACH TO IMPLEMENTING STEAM EDUCATION IN PRIMARY GRADES

Аннотация
Annotation. This article aims to reveal the essence of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) system, which has emerged in the world’s leading countries and is currently developing rapidly as a new educational method. The article highlights the main characteristics of STEAM education and analyzes the results of its integration into the teaching process in primary grades. Additionally, it demonstrates how the STEAM education system integrates various methodological approaches such as systematic, personal, dynamic, competency-based, integrative, technological, and communicative methods. It is considered appropriate to use this system in the preparation of future teachers in engineering, arts, and mathematics subjects, as well as in organizing project-based activities for students in any sector of the industry. This serves as the main object of the research. Based on this study, the article provides suggestions on how to integrate STEAM approaches, which can be utilized in working with teachers, students, and learners.
