THE ROLE OF INTERCULTURAL COMPETENCE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING: APPROACHES AND STRATEGIES

Abstract
This article comprehensively analyzes the importance and role of interculturalcompetence in foreign language teaching. In the context of globalization, language learningrequires not only the acquisition of linguistic knowledge but also the development of the ability toeffectively communicate with representatives of different cultures and societies. The articleexamines the theoretical foundations of the concept of intercultural competence, the mainpedagogical approaches used in its development, and modern educational strategies. It alsoanalyzes methods for integrating the cultural component into foreign language teaching practicesand demonstrates ways to develop multiculturalism, tolerance, and communicative activity instudents.
