GREEN MODERNIZATION AND EXPORT COMPETITIVENESS OF UZBEKISTAN’S FRUIT AND VEGETABLE SECTOR: ASSESSING TRENDS AND MECHANISMS

The study assesses how resource efficiency, environmental certification, traceability, and low-carbon supply-chain modernization can be integrated into a mechanism for strengthening the export competitiveness of Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable sector. The evidence base combines official statistics for 2024–2025, government materials, legislation, reports by the World Bank, UNEP and FiBL, and relevant academic studies. The research applies systems, comparative and structural-dynamic analysis and calculates changes in export quantity and value, average unit export value, and the four-market concentration ratio. In 2025, export value rose by 36.9%, while export quantity increased by 6.2%; the calculated average unit value grew from USD 761 to USD 981 per tonne. At the same time, the four main destinations accounted for 75.4% of exports in 2024, indicating persistent geographical concentration risk. The article proposes an integrated mechanism linking resource efficiency, conformity assurance, traceability, green logistics and market diversification, supported by measurable indicators. Green modernization can raise export value only when environmental results are verifiable and combined with group certification, laboratory capacity, cold-chain infrastructure and performance-based public support
