he 21st century is defined by the information age and the knowledge economy, withrapid advancements in information technology providing advanced teaching tools like multimedia.Multimedia offers many benefits in English teaching, such as delivering more information, saving time, andstimulating students' imagination and creativity. However, some scholars caution against its uncritical use,emphasizing that multimedia should only assist, not replace, traditional teaching methods. This article hasfour sections: a general introduction to multimedia, its necessity in English teaching, an exploration of itsadvantages and related challenges, and strategies for effective use. By integrating multimedia thoughtfully,educators can enhance the learning experience without becoming overly reliant on technology
