Currently, epilepsy is a serious medical and social problem of all mankind. The International League for Epilepsy noted that epilepsy is a brain disorder characterized not only by recurrent seizures, but also by its neurobiological, psychological, cognitive and social consequences [5]. The debut of the disease in the first 5 years of life often causes the development of severe cognitive impairment, often reaching the severe degree of mental impairment and dementia. Frequent epileptic seizures contribute to worsening cognitive deficits. Among patients with newly diagnosed epilepsy, cognitive problems are also more common than in general populations. According to G.A. Baker, in adult patients after one year the onset of the disease, the average indicators of memory, speed of psychomotor reactions and learning ability become worsen[1,21].
