Annotaciya
The relationship between sleep disturbances, metabolic syndrome, and cognition in adolescents is a pressing issue in current pediatric and neurological practice. Adolescence is characterized by an increased need for sleep and intensive development of the central nervous system, which lead to especially vulnerable to the negative consequences of lack of sleep. Insufficient or poor-quality nocturnal recovery can lead to the formation of overweight, insulin resistance and other components of the metabolic syndrome. In turn, metabolic disorders exacerbate sleep problems, forming a vicious circle.
