Abstract
The clinical and neurological diversity of pain in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) is of great significance, as pain symptoms may result from both the disease itself and various treatment-related factors. Different types of pain — musculoskeletal, dystonic, neuropathic, and central — significantly affect the patients’ quality of life. Proper assessment of pain in PD requires the use of subjective and objective scales, clinical tests, and neuropsychological evaluations. Accurate identification of the type and severity of pain, along with understanding its underlying mechanisms, facilitates the selection of effective therapeutic strategies.
