Аннотация
Atherothrombotic damage to extracranial arteries, especially internal carotid and vertebral arteries, is one of the leading causes of ischemic strokes. However, the degree of stenosis does not always correlate with the severity of clinical symptoms and impaired cerebral perfusion. In this study, an analysis of the relationship between clinical manifestations, the degree of stenosis, and cerebral perfusion indicators in patients with various forms of extracranial artery disease was conducted. Using neurovisualization methods (including CT/MRI perfusion) and ultrasound duplex scanning, brain hemodynamics parameters and the structure of atherosclerotic plaques were assessed. Significant correlations were found between the type of plaque, the degree of stenosis, and the decrease in cerebral perfusion in the corresponding basins. The results emphasize the need for a comprehensive approach to assessing patients with vascular pathology to optimize stroke risk stratification and choose a preventive strategy.
