Аннотация
Cavernous sinus thrombosis (CST) is one of the severe complications of coronavirus infection. The initial symptoms of cavernous sinus thrombosis are severe headaches or facial pain, which usually occur only on one side and are localized in the infraorbital and frontal regions. High fever is also characteristic. Later, ophthalmoplegia, exophthalmos, and eyelid edema develop, and these symptoms are often observed on both sides. The sensitivity of the facial skin may decrease or disappear completely, and optic disc edema and visual impairment may occur. The signs of progression of TCS are impaired consciousness, disorientation, seizures, and focal neurological symptoms. In this regard, there is a high mortality rate, which requires close attention to each patient in order to early detect the disease with a thorough analysis of each case with the selection of the most optimal treatment method and introduction of this group of patients.
