MULTILEVEL DEGENERATIVE CERVICAL STENOSIS AT C4–C7 WITH CERVICAL MYELOPATHY: DESCRIPTION OF A CLINICAL CASE

Аннотация
This article presents a clinical case of multilevel degenerative cervical spine disease at the C4–C5, C5–C6, and C6–C7 levels complicated by cervical myelopathy. The disease was characterized by gradual progression of neurological deficit, cervicobrachial pain, sensory disturbances, decreased muscle strength in the upper limbs, impaired fine motor function of the hands, and gait disturbance. Neuroimaging revealed pronounced degenerative-dystrophic changes, intervertebral disc herniations, disc-osteophyte complexes, cervical spinal canal stenosis, and signs of spinal cord compression. Considering the progression of myelopathic symptoms and the insufficient effect of conservative treatment, the patient underwent anterior removal of intervertebral disc herniations at C4–C5, C5–C6, and C6–C7 with interbody PEEK cage implantation. The postoperative period was characterized by positive clinical and neurological dynamics, including reduction of pain, regression of paresthesia, improvement of limb strength, and restoration of functional activity. This clinical case emphasizes the importance of early detection of degenerative cervical myelopathy, comprehensive clinical and radiological assessment, and timely surgical decision-making in patients with multilevel cervical spinal stenosis.
