This article is devoted to the essence and content of the category «legal security», general characteristics and definition of its place and role in the national security system.  It examines various approaches to the definition of legal security, analyzes the concept of legal security, as well as substantive differences that give grounds for separating juridical and legal security.  Scientific conclusions have been formulated that have theoretical significance and importance for the further improvement of the scientific base and legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of legal security.
