This article gives the concept of copyright, as well as the need to modernize national legislation in the field of liability for copyright infringement. The main points of copyright violations in social networks and online platforms were discussed. Moreover, this is one of the unresolved problems of jurisprudence and the author tried to give the concept of types of copyright violations on the Internet. Case studies were also presented, foreign and national cases in this area were discussed. Jurisprudence is being modernized with every development of advanced technologies, and every branch should be properly protected from the legal side.
