The article discusses the tasks of criminal investigation units in the internal affairs bodies related to combating corruption crimes. In this issue, the opinions of more than a dozen legal scholars and specialists were analyzed, who came to the conclusion that the main participants in the effective fight against corruption crimes are: the head of the body carrying out operational investigative activities, operatives, investigators, a specialist (forensic expert, accountant, specialist with knowledge in the field of information technology (IT)), responsible for operational investigative activities, persons providing assistance are classified as consisting of representatives of the institution of civil society. Also, based on the study of the content of the official duties performed by an employee of the criminal investigation department of the internal affairs bodies, a proposal was put forward to develop standard official duties of an employee of the criminal investigation department, taking into account the joint duties of persons assigned to the above-mentioned groups of main and additional participants.
