A high level of stigmatization and infringement of the fundamental rights and freedoms of people with disabilities is still a reality in many countries. Integration and socialization of people with intellectual disabilities is often even lower. The negative consequences of stigmatization affect both the object of stigmatization and the surrounding society, which in turn prevents the development of tolerance towards persons with disabilities, interfering with the implementation of their social rehabilitation. Globally, more needs to be done to reduce the stigma associated with intellectual disability and to promote their active participation and regular social interaction. The problem of disability is not only a problem of people with disabilities themselves, their families, the duty of the state to provide them with a decent livelihood, a key role in this issue is played by civil society institutions, with the help of which it is necessary to change the attitude and worldview towards people with disabilities.
