Analysis of the Religious and Political Situation in Turkestan in the Context of the Choler Riot

This article examines the religious and political situation in Turkestan at the end of the 19th century, in the context of which the “Cholera Riot” of 1892 is analyzed. The article describes the role of religion as the root cause of cholera riot, the political situation that provoked it; in a historical and philosophical context, statistical data on the real causes and consequences of colonial policy, the number of cases of cholera, deaths and survivors during treatment are analyzed. Based on historical evidence, the article analyzes a number of problems that arose in Turkestan in the late XIX - early XX centuries. During this period, due to a religious factor, a blow was inflicted on national and religious values. The article also states that Tsarist Russia’s attempt to influence the weak point of the local population during the occupation of Turkestan was based not only on the use of religion and religious affiliation of the local population to create a political conspiracy, but also on the “cholera” incident in the region.
