COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF SCIENTIFIC CENTERS OF THE USA AND CHINA

The article is devoted to a comparative analysis of research centers in the United States and China. The term «think tank» has been studied in terms of the views and theories of several scientists. An in-depth analysis of the formation processes of research centers in the two leading countries showed that research centers in the United States appeared much earlier than in China. Through benchmarking, American think tanks were seen as operating independently. Chinese research centers were mainly set up by the state or ministry. Also, in the main part of the article, the stages of development of American think tanks are divided into four stages, and Chinese centers - into three stages. The similarities and differences between think tanks of the two countries were studied depending on the type of activity. The influence of think tanks in US and China on the decision-making process using the method of systems analysis is emphasized. The article also reflects the analyzes obtained by the author.
