This article examines the characteristics of behavior that determine interpersonal relationships, the concept of aggression, initial points of view aimed at different explanations of a person’s tendency to aggressive behavior, socially acceptable and antisocial types of aggression and scales of aggressive actions. The corresponding theories of S. Freud, J. Dollard and a number of other scientists were considered. All societies condemn aggressive behavior directed at members of society. In general, the manifestation of aggression is considered as a person’s readiness for hostile behavior. It is likely that aggression is not innate, but rather acquired through interaction with society. The emergence of aggressiveness is a very complex process that includes many different factors. Most often, hostile behavior is formed in childhood under the influence of the environment, parents, relatives, and peers.
