NEW UZBEKISTAN: GENDER EQUALITY IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The article provides an overview of the current situation in the country of gender equality in the field of entrepreneurship. It provides characteristics of the ongoing reforms to develop gender equality and support women's business. It analyzes women's entrepreneurship as an integral part of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan, which directly affects the development of the country's economy and, as a result, overall well-being. The reasons for women's participation in entrepreneurship are identified - the desire for self-realization, the desire to get an education and realize their professional potential. The article discusses the implementation of programs that provide social assistance, support for entrepreneurship and self-employment at the mahalla level. The article is based on the report of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development “Country Gender Assessment for Uzbekistan 2024”.
