When working with plant gene pools, the quality of reproducible seeds for long-term storage is crucial. Studies of the «Dar Tashkenta» sweet pepper variety revealed differences. Large fruits weighing 110-140 g produce the highest number of seeds (265) compared to fruits weighing 80-100 g (186). Moreover, seeds of both fruit fractions have high laboratory germination rates (98.5-98.0%). Fruits weighing 60-70 g produce fewer seeds (114) with lower germination rates (85.2%). Therefore, it is advisable to select large and medium-sized peppers with typical varietal characteristics to extract high-quality seeds for storage.
